Progress on front cover
Here is the progress I have made on my final front cover. As you can see I have added some cover lines on the left hand side which will match the stories inside. I have also added social media links to Facebook, Twitter and Instagram as it use of e-media and links to Maslow with a sense of belonging to a community. I have then added some small details like some big rapper names above the masthead and also adding a 'free poster inside' section as it is a way of attracting the audience which links to AIDA theory. My next steps are to add more cover lines and some puffs

Changes made to main image
Here are some screenshots of the changes I made to the main image going on my front cover. Firstly I used the remove background tool to just have my body as the image. I then applied a black and white effect to it as I feel it is more visually appealing and gives my character a sense of mystery. Finally I then removed everything in the image apart from the watch and made it gold, and the put it over my actual image to give my character a golden watch.

Chosen Front Cover Main Image
This is the image I have decided to use for my actual front cover. I think its a good image and one of the best from the photo-shoot because it contains direct address whilst also doing the worshipping pose I wanted. The background is also modern and city style which links to my characters background and where he comes from.
This is what my target audience said about the image:
"I like the modern look of the back ground and also the clothing which contrasts the shiny reflection of the mirrors behind." - Cameron Hale
"I like how the background is very simple, but has a very urban look about it. It shows that this character is very modern". -Archie Cridland

Next Steps
Here are my next steps:
- I need to start my actual front cover now I have the images from the photo-shoot
- I need to take the pictures I need of my double page spread character
- I need to take the pictures that are going on my contents page which will feature the Lord NB character and the King Hale character
- I need to write up the article and interview that is going on my double page spread
- I need to consider what else is going to feature on my front cover and contents
Things to remember -
- I need to use a variation of techniques in showing my posts like using videos etc
- Make sure everything links together
- I need to finish my magazine on time so I have enough time left to do my evaluation

Photoshoot Evaluation
Overall the photo-shoot that took place last Friday was a success and I managed to get some good shots of my Lord NB character. As I mentioned in one of my posts, my double page spread character 'King Hale' was unable to come on the shoot and therefore I was only able to get shots for my front cover which features the Lord NB character.
We went to the Kettering train station, Wicksteed Park, Boughton Church, Corby skate park and finally the Corby cube. We were allowed about 20 minutes in each location so we had to make sure we knew what we were doing and what shots we wanted. I would say that I was quite organised and I knew what shots I wanted to get and the pose I wanted to do. I got a variety of shots so now I have to choose what image I want to use for my front cover.
If there was anything I would have done different it would have been to use a range of camera angles. For example I could have got an over the shoulder shot where my character was facing away from the camera, I think this would have been visually appealing. I could have also got some high angle shots to show that my character was lower than everybody else before he became a rapper. I could have also used some more props like gold chains to really give the message that my character is a rapper or I could have been holding a gun to show the danger side of my character.

Photoshoot #5
Location 5: Wicksteed Park
We also stopped off at Wicksteed Park during the photo-shoot and I was only able to get this shot as the background didn't really match the genre and the character I am going for. However I still managed to get this close up of my character but I don't think I will be using it for my actual magazine.
Photoshoot #4
Location 4: Corby Cube
The final location we went to was the cube in Corby. This makes for a more urban and modern background for my character and shows that my character is from a city. As you can see I got a close up shot of again doing the worshipping pose with direct address. And then I also got some long shots of my character where again the worshipping pose is used and then also a different more explicit pose is used.

Photoshoot #3
Location 3: Church
During our journey to different locations we also stopped off at a church and again I wanted to make use of this. I thought that the church would make for a good background and make my character seem more than just a rapper and actually he is religious in some sort. I also thought doing the worshipping pose would also be perfect for this location as it looks like im praying and im thankful for what I have in my life. As you can see one shot is a side shot of me not looking at the camera and the other is low angle involving direct address.

Photoshoot Results #2
Location 2: Corby Skate Park
On the minibus we managed to spot a skate park in Corby. I thought I would make use of this as there was some graffiti in the park and that would go with the genre of my magazine as being explicit and bad behaviour. I got some low angle shots to make my character seem more powerful and above everybody else, while also doing the worshipping pose. I also got some shots with direct address with the graffiti behind the character, my tattoo sleeve is also showing so the shots I got really define the character I want to get across to my target audience.

Photoshoot Results
Location 1: Kettering Train Station
This was the first location we went to in order to take some photos. However on the day there was a slight problem with my double page spread character 'King Hale' and he was unable to come on the shoot. Therefore I was only taking photos for my front cover and the 'Lord NB' character that I am playing. At the train station I got a variation of shots. I got a long shot of my characters whole body doing the worshipping pose and I also got some close up's with some direct address in it. Overall I was happy with the shots I managed to get in the location.

More Photoshoot Plans (Poses)
I have done some more photo-shoot planning by looking into some more poses that rappers tend to do so that I could potentially use them on my own photos. These are just a few poses I have looked into and may change when I take the actual photos going on my magazine.
How to Make an Effective Photoshoot
